Make LinkedIn Updates work for you

One of the many features of LinkedIn is allows you to put up status updates. Your latest update always appears next to your profile and the more interesting they are; the more likely it is to get viewed.

One of the best things about LinkedIn posts and updates is that you can connect it with your Twitter and Facebook account; which means that what you do here is visible there and what you do there is visible here.

Here are some things that you can do to make your status updates do more for you:

Just because they allow only 140 characters does not mean you get sloppy with grammar and punctuation. Shortened links and good grammar go a long way.

Put a link to an article you’ve written or were quoted in.

Put a link to a video. Although the length of the video shouldn’t really matter, one under 3 minutes is recommended.

Any announcements about your company can also be put up as updates. It’ll keep the followers of your company in the loop about what is happening in your end.

Put up news that is related to your industry. Example, if you work for the IT sector, you can post news with the latest technological innovations, etc.

The most important thing here though is that you have to make sure you are consistent when it comes to updates. One update a month is not going very far. Allot some time and update more than once a week to see really tangible results.
