Back to the Basics: On Page SEO

As the name suggests, on page SEO is all about working directly on the site in an attempt to optimize it. The 8 most important factors on which On Page SEO depends are:

Descriptive URLs: Make sure you have descriptive URLs as opposed to random codes only you can understand so that when someone is looking for what your site is all about, it comes up quicker.

Versions: Ensure that there is only one version of your site, i.e. all the default pages come back to your site, rather than float into nowhere.

Alt Attributes: Make sure that your images have descriptive alt attributes, it will definitely help in making the image show up faster on a search engine.

Codes: Check and ensure that the code you are using is valid because if the code is not completely valid, the search engine won’t read it right.

Content: Ensure that the content on your site is unique so that you don’t have plagiarism issues for one, and secondly, unique content will show up higher on a search, than plagiarised content.

Links: Make sure all the Links on your site are connected to the right pages and the links on the pages on the inside are good to go too.

Meta Tags: You will be surprise with the benefits of checking your Meta tags and making sure they describe the contents of different pages.

H Tags: As small as it is, it is important to have the titles in H tags because they are considered important and are supported by Search Engines.

It sounds really simple to be reading all of this. I’m sure, especially to all the accomplished people in the field, but then again, isn’t it stuff like this that matters in the long run?
